Indications:

          Symptomatic treatment of RA, painful osteoarthritis (arthrosis, degenerative joint disease) & ankylosing spondylitis.

Contraindications:

          Hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin. Active or recent GI ulceration, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, severe hepatic insufficiency, nondialysed severe renal insufficiency, overt GI bleeding, recent cerebrovascular bleeding/other bleeding disorders, severe uncontrolled heart failure. Perioperative pain in the setting of CABG surgery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.

Special Precautions:

          History of GI disease, dehydration, CHF, liver cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, overt renal disease, recent major surgical procedures. W/draw if peptic ulceration or GI bleeding occurs. Concomitant anticoagulant or diuretic treatment. Elderly.

Dosage:

          RA Initially 15 mg/day. May be reduced to 7.5 mg/day. OA 7.5 mg/day. May be increased to 15 mg/day. Ankylosing spondylitis 15 mg/day. Max: 15 mg/day.
